Schnebly Winery sits right in Homestead, about 10 minutes from the main entrance to Everglades National Park. It's a logical stop before or after a day in the park, and honestly, it earns a visit on its own merits. The wines here are made from tropical fruits grown in South Florida: avocado, passion fruit, guava, lychee. If you've never tasted an avocado wine, this is the place to find out what that actually means.

The tasting experience is guided, which matters here. The servers know their stuff, and they'll walk you through the flavor profiles and explain how each fruit translates into wine. (The passion fruit is worth trying if you like something tart and bright.) A cheese plate pairs well with the flight and is worth adding on.

The setting is genuinely lovely. There's a garden out back with a waterfall, plenty of tropical plants, and a restaurant if you want to make a longer afternoon of it. It's a relaxed pace, not a rushed pour-and-go situation.

Schnebly's works well for groups, couples, and families. The staff has a reputation for being patient, warm, and genuinely attentive. It's the kind of place where you plan to stay an hour and end up staying two. If you're building an itinerary around the Everglades, this makes for a memorable detour into what South Florida actually grows.

We had such a beautiful experience thanks to Rui. From the moment we arrived, he treated my parents with genuine kindness and respect. I shared with him that my father has dementia, and Rui immediately showed so much patience, compassion, and understanding. He never rushed us once and made my dad feel comfortable and cared for the entire time. He also made my mom feel so welcomed and happy, which meant more to me than words can explain. Rui took the time to carefully explain every wine to us with such knowledge and passion, while still making the experience feel warm and personal instead of intimidating. His level of service was truly exceptional. You can tell he cares deeply about people, not just about doing his job. In a world where many people are too busy to slow down for others, Rui stood out in the most beautiful way. Thank you, Rui, for your patience, professionalism, and kindness toward my family. We are incredibly grateful and will always remember how well you treated us.

I did not know you could make wine from avocados before coming here. Wine was very good and I’m glad I did the tasting so I could learn about its unique characteristics. I wish I remembered the name of our server as he was super courteous and very knowledgeable. The location was nice even though the weather was bad. Was surprisingly pleased when we found out we got glasses to take home after our tasting.

Experienced Wine Tasting on 5/11 with a great server, Steve. Had a very pleasant experience with a variety of cheese and wine. Great service and great ambience with a diverse flora found recreates with a mystical waterfall.

If you like a tart/sweet their Passion fruit is perfect. Matt was a great, knowledgeable and friendly server. There's a restaurant with a little waterfall out back. I didn't go to the brewery.
