About

Yardie Spice is a small Caribbean spot in Homestead that people drive out of their way for. The menu runs deep: curry goat, oxtail, jerk pork, whole snapper, seafood fries, Jamaican patties, and a solid lineup of vegan options that are actually flavorful, not an afterthought. The natural juices are worth ordering alongside whatever you get.

The owner is the real draw here alongside the food. Regulars talk about her the way you talk about a great aunt who happens to cook professionally. She'll sit down with you, make you laugh, and send you off full and happy. That kind of hospitality is rare, and it shows in how packed the place gets.

Portions are generous. People mention getting multiple meals out of a single order, which makes the price feel like a genuine bargain. Takeout works great here if you're heading into Everglades National Park and want something worth eating after a long day on the trails. (The park entrance is about 15 minutes away, and this beats anything you'll find once you're inside.)

Dine-in, takeout, and delivery are all available. Reservations are accepted, which is smart to use if you're coming with a group. It's a compact space, so plan accordingly.

An absolute gem and a must visit when in South Florida! We stopped on the way to the Everglades to get some dinner to-go. The owner is so sweet, funny, and kind. She made us feel right at home! We got the Jamaican patty, curry goat, and oxtail. Everything was delicious and cooked with love. The portions were very generous! We also got the juice of the day which was incredible. It had the perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and refreshing.

Finger lickin’ gooooood. My family and I have gone to the same Jamaican spot for 20 years and never thought we’d find anything better (we weren’t even looking) but came across Yardie’s and I’m not sure we’re going back to the other one. Wow. The food, the service, the natural juices 100/10. Ms Roshelle was an absolute SWEETHEART. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Wow, what an amazing meal and experience. While staying in Florida City during our National Parks visits, we visited Yardie Spice and had a wonderful meal. Tiny place but very welcoming and lots of folks was a good sign. The vegan options were great and so flavorful. Festivals were fried dough with just a hint of sweetness. Huge and perfect accompaniment to the spicy jerk tofu. The Vegetable empanada was massive and reminded us of an Indian samosa. The fried plantain was heavy and perfect with the spicy slaw. The jerk tofu was perfectly seasoned with a good kick. Portions were huge and unfortunately we were too full to try the coconut rum cake we had been eyeing. In addition to the food, the service was so warm and friendly, we were made to feel like we were with friends at home. The food was truly 5 star and we hope to find a reason to be back in the area just so we can visit again. Highly recommend, especially for vegetarians/vegans that appreciate great flavors.

We were recommended to come here by our guide through Biscayne national park. We loved everything about it and the portions fed us for multiple meals! The owners were friendly and welcoming, the food was delicious, and the location very clean. One of the owners even came and sat with us for a bit to show us how mixing the two fresh juices (mango-ginger-tumeric and hibiscus) brought out the best of both flavors. I had the curry goat and my husband had the sweet chili salmon both recommended to us by the owners. Both were amazing and we wished we lived closer to become regulars.

WOW! Did I say WOW! Some of the best food we have tried anywhere. Everything we tried was fantastic, the flavors were amazing! Our party had the smoked fish dip, veggie potstickers, whole snapper, fried snapper/shrimp, sweet chili salmon, jerk pork, key lime pie, and coconut rum cake. Don’t forget the fruit juice too - very fresh. JP’s and Richelle’s recommendations were spot on. The atmosphere was filled with island music, carry out orders, and JP/Rochelle interacting with everyone. Thanks for spending time with us during our meal. If you visit, don’t be shy about entering as the humble outside is just the beginning of this taste bud experience. Wish we lived closer so we could try more of the menu. We’ll be back next time we return to South Florida.
