About

The Seminole Theatre has been a cornerstone of Homestead since 1921, and walking in, you feel it. The vintage decor is the real thing, not a renovation trying to look old. It's a proper historic theater, intimate enough that there's not a bad seat in the house.

The programming runs wide: musicals, plays, comedy shows, dance recitals, and live concerts cycle through the calendar year-round. Local school productions share the stage with professional touring acts, and the quality across both tends to impress. (Check their website before your trip. There's a solid chance something good is on during your visit.)

The staff here gets mentioned constantly, and for good reason. They're genuinely attentive, the ticketing process is straightforward, and there's a bar on-site for pre-show drinks. Families with kids, including those with sensory sensitivities, have found the staff especially accommodating. That kind of hospitality is hard to manufacture.

For anyone spending a few days exploring Everglades National Park, about 10 minutes away, an evening at the Seminole Theatre is a great way to round out the trip. It's the kind of local cultural spot that reminds you there's a real community here, not just a park entrance. Parking is easy. Prices are fair. It punches well above its size.

Magnificent venue for experiencing performances at a professional level! Last year I attended the production, Into the Woods, and this past weekend I was able to see The Sound of Music, performed by Palmer Trinity School- it was exceptional! Guest services, purchasing tickets and bar services were all a flawless and pleasant experience. There is plenty of parking, with a garage next to the theatre. The theatre is a true gift from the City of Homestead and Seminole Cultural Arts Theatre, Inc. who invested in renovating and restoring this treasure that was once a movie theatre in 1919. Take the opportunity to visit this historical building and enjoy one of their many wonderful productions.

Really love the small, hometown, humble feel of this theater, and it's one of the best entertainment values in Miami. As a Wedding and Event DJ in Miami, South Florida, Key Largo, Islamorada, and the Florida Keys, I really appreciate the entertainment value and hospitality here. Thank you! Had to revisit this review and theater give it one more star after seeing a brilliant production of Dracula which I can add to the list of great plays and concerts I've seen here. Yes the concession stand could have more offerings, staff, and quicker service, but it's still a great experience here. I especially can appreciate all the behind the scenes stuff that results in a memorable production as has always been the case here. The quality of the shows they put on both on stage and flawless behind the scenes stuff is really impressive and commendable!! I paid $25 to see a very professionally done production of Grease, and have seen other equally "exceeded expectations " plays and concerts here. Not a bad seat in the house, friendly helpful staff and more. I'd give it 5 stars if there were a better "intermission over" system like blinking lights, announcements, etc and if there were more concession stand options. Highly recommend this venue, and want to re-emphasize the phenomenal entertainment value for your money!

We had such a good experience at the Seminole Theater, and I truly just want to recognize their incredible staff. We attended a show with our family, including our daughter who has autism. Unfortunately, she was having a hard time with the show environment and the noise level. The staff could not have been kinder or more patient. They genuinely tried their best to accommodate us — offering different seating options in multiple areas of the theater to see if a change of environment would help. They spoke to us with compassion, never made us feel like a burden, and were so gentle and understanding with our kids while we figured out what to do. It meant more than they probably realize. Inclusion isn’t just about policies — it’s about people. And their team showed so much heart and humanity that night. Thank you for treating our family with kindness. We truly appreciate it.
