About

Losner Park sits in downtown Homestead's historic district, and it punches above its weight for a city park. The playground is the main draw: rubberized flooring, a ropes course that older kids genuinely love, slides, swings, and enough variety to keep a range of ages busy. Walking paths loop around the whole thing, so adults can move while the kids do their thing.

The park has a performance stage for outdoor events, open green space for just hanging out, and benches throughout. Shade is solid for a younger tree canopy, which matters a lot when you're in South Florida and the sun is doing what it does. Dogs are welcome, and the layout makes it easy to walk a loop without doubling back.

Location is convenient if you're spending a day in Homestead before or after hitting Everglades National Park, about 11 miles southwest. It's a good place to decompress, let the kids burn energy, or just sit somewhere that isn't a parking lot. Street parking on Krome Avenue is the main option, so arriving early on busy days helps.

The park occasionally hosts seasonal events (a portable ice rink has shown up around the holidays, which is exactly the kind of thing that makes a neighborhood park memorable). It's free, it's central, and it's a genuinely nice spot to break up a long day of exploring South Florida.

Awesome place to spend time with your kids or to simply relax. Very modern designed park with several slides, swings, a very unique ropes course and a walking path that goes around it all. The whole playground area has the soft rubberized floor which makes it nice for kids safety. There are always iguanas to look at too which is cool! Bathrooms are generally clean and parking is free on the street.

We drive from Hialeah to come to this park as a treat. It is great for older kids who like to climb. They also have stuff for small kids too. Only negative about this park is the occasional homeless person in the bushes but it is directly behind the police headquarters so we felt mostly safe.

This is such a cute, surprisingly spacious park tucked away in downtown Homestead. 🌳 While many of the trees are young, there was still plenty of shade which made comfortable to walk around and hang out for a while. The park has a nice mix of walking paths, play areas and open green space. There’s also performing arts stage with a large lawn. 🚗 🚶‍♂️ There is on-street parking, but the traffic in that area can make it hard to access. I found it much easier to park in the garage connected to the Hooky movie theater and just walk across the street. From there, you can easily explore the park and the surrounding downtown area. There’s also a statue honoring William Krome, an important historical figure in Homestead’s history. There are a few nearby shops that make it easy to turn your visit into a full little downtown experience.

It's ironic that the park closest to the police station has the most lingering indigents. The playground is ok despite the searing hot metal slide in summer. Sometimes the bathrooms are not open, and street parking on busy Krome ave is not ideal. Overall it's nicer than other local parks due to its namesake but not as safe in my opinion.

A park with a portable ice rink...yes please! Felt extremely safe as it is located right next to the police station and is well lit. Very nice park for little kids as well.
