Simmons Bar

Simmons Bar is a classic neighborhood dive, recently renovated under new ownership and better for it. The place is clean, the drinks are cheap (genuinely cheap, not "happy hour" cheap), and the bartenders are the kind who remember your order. Free pool, a jukebox, live music on weekends, and karaoke nights keep things lively without trying too hard.

The vibe is exactly what it should be: local, unpretentious, and relaxed. This is where Homestead actually drinks. Don't come expecting craft cocktail menus or bottle service. Come expecting a real bourbon in a real glass, a cold beer at a fair price, and a crowd that's been coming here for years.

Smoking moved outside after the renovation, so the interior stays comfortable. The patio handles smokers and overflow just fine. The room is small, so when there's a live band, it gets loud. That's part of the deal.

If you're spending a few days exploring Everglades National Park, about 10 minutes away, Simmons is a solid option for a low-key evening out. Skip the tourist spots and drink where the locals do. Weekday specials make it even easier to justify another round.
