About

The Hilton Garden Inn Homestead sits right where you want to be if you're spending a few days exploring Everglades National Park or making a run down to the Keys. It's a straightforward, well-maintained hotel that delivers the basics reliably: comfortable rooms, free parking (plenty of it), and an indoor pool that's easy on the eyes.

Families do well here. The pool is a genuine draw after a long day on the trails, and the rooms are sized reasonably for a family stay. The property is modern and kept clean, and check-in tends to move quickly. The staff gets good marks for being friendly and helpful.

There's an on-site restaurant and bar, which is convenient when you get back late from a sunset paddle and don't feel like hunting for dinner. A gym is on the property too, if you're the type who keeps that routine going on the road.

Location is the real selling point. You're minutes from the main park entrance, close to Biscayne National Park, and the drive to Key West is easy from here. Several good restaurants are within reach for when you want to eat off-property. Free parking means you're not nickel-and-dimed when you roll in with a loaded car and a kayak strapped to the roof.

It's a solid home base for an Everglades trip, with the reliability of a name-brand hotel and the convenience of being right at the edge of one of the country's great wild places.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 Excellent hotel! The property was spotless, modern, and very well maintained. The staff was friendly, check-in was easy, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The A/C was ice cold, the hot water was almost instant, and the elevators were fast and reliable. The pool looked beautiful and well maintained, although we didn’t have time to use it. The location is perfect for visiting the Florida Keys while saving money on lodging. My only complaint is that breakfast isn’t included. We would definitely stay here again!

We were told that there was a complimentary breakfast. There is not. There’s an overpriced made to order breakfast that they’ll tell you as complementary. I should’ve just slept on the floor in the lobby. I’m sure that would’ve been more comfortable than the mattresses they have in their room. Absolutely horrible night sleep With these hard as a rock mattresses. Definitely putting this place on the list of places to never stay again.

Bedbugs! Checked in moved a pillow saw bedbugs and then checked right back out. I did take a picture to show the front desk. Since I booked through a 3rd party I had to deal with them to try to get my refund back from the hotel. The hotel would only refund my second night and not both nights. Manager tried to say the solid white sheet in the picture didn't look like their solid white sheets. Had to move to a new hotel across town.

I had the coolest person working, Sujeylie, she was very calm cool collected while also being funny, I bought some snacks and my cashapp card wasn’t working so she helped me around that with me sending the money to her and then her paying for the snacks, she also stayed calm when a alarm went off and had people upset, yet she stayed calm. She is super sweet and a good person, I’m so thankful for her helping us that night, should give her a raise.

The room was clean and of a reasonable size, suitable for a family stay. The hotel’s location is also a strong advantage if you’re heading to Key West, it’s conveniently close. Free parking with plenty of available spaces is another plus, and there are several good restaurants nearby. Unfortunately, the overall experience was significantly affected by poor service. Upon arrival, we had to wait for someone to appear at the reception in order to check in. No basic information was provided neither about breakfast nor about Wi-Fi. There were also clear oversights in the room setup: we stayed as a family of four (two adults and two children), yet only three towels were provided. The biggest disappointment, however, was breakfast. A large portion of the items listed on the menu were unavailable. While I understand that expectations may differ for European guests, it was still surprising that we could not order a three-egg omelet simply because the kitchen “did not have enough eggs”. This felt unreasonable and poorly managed. Additionally, the staff’s English was very limited, which made communication difficult. Overall, I would strongly recommend not booking this hotel with breakfast included, if you have that option. You’ll likely pay extra for very little value and end up eating elsewhere anyway especially if carb-heavy breakfasts are not what you’re looking for.
