Biscayne-Everglades Greenway

The Biscayne-Everglades Greenway is a paved multi-use trail running through Homestead's canal system, built for cyclists, runners, and walkers who want to cover real ground in South Florida's open landscape. Flat, wide, and well-suited for everything from a casual morning ride to a longer training run.

The trail follows the canal corridors that stitch this part of Miami-Dade County together. You're riding or running through working agricultural land with big sky views and the kind of quiet you don't expect this close to the city. It's not wilderness, but it has an honest, open-air feel that's hard to find on a paved surface anywhere nearby.

The Greenway sits right between two of South Florida's most significant parks. Biscayne National Park is to the east, and Everglades National Park's main entrance is a short drive south. If you're spending a few days exploring the area, this trail is a natural add-on, especially if you want to stretch your legs between water-based or wildlife-focused activities in the parks.

Bring water. South Florida sun is serious, and shade is limited along the canal sections. Early morning rides are the move, particularly in summer. Parking access points are available along the route, so you can pick your starting point based on how far you want to go.
