About

Havana Spice is a Cuban restaurant in Homestead with the kind of menu that takes a while to read through. Vaca frita, churrasco, paella, Pan Con Bistec, tamales, chicharron with guacamole. It's a lot, in the best way. Portions are generous enough that sharing is genuinely smart, not just polite.

The vaca frita is the dish people keep talking about. Get it with beans and rice and yuca, and you'll understand why. The seafood paella is another standout, big enough for four to split. If you're not sure where to start, the plantain chips with garlic sauce are an easy yes while you figure out the rest.

There's both indoor and outdoor seating, which makes it a comfortable stop year-round. The patio is a good call on a nice evening. Reservations are available, which is worth knowing if you're rolling in with a group after a day at Everglades National Park, about 10 minutes up the road.

They serve lunch, dinner, and brunch, with beer, wine, and cocktails on the menu too. Don't skip the lemon-mint juice. Takeout and delivery are options if you'd rather eat back at the hotel.

Dinner was out of this world. My wife got the Cuban. Excellent choice. I had the Churrasco. Luis told me to try the tostones. Great choice. We also got the chicharron with guacamole. Wonderful dinner, great atmosphere and Luis is on top of his game. Thank you.

Fun quirky spot easy to find. Indoor and outdoor seating. Huge menu. Highly suggest the plantain chips with garlic sauce and the vaca frita. Portions are huge so plan to share. Man, that vaca frita with beans and rice and yuca. Will be dreaming about that. Key lime pie more like cheesecake but tasty if you like cheesecake. Fun place. Service is a bit slow since they have a lot of ground to cover. Very enjoyable evening.

Their Lemon-mint juice (smoothie?) was wonderful. The Pan Con Bisetc sandwich was very large and very good. The avocado salad was also very good. Sweet plantains appetizer was perfect. Beans and Rice side was good. The beans were well seasoned. The service was great. We would definitely re-visit this place to explore other things on the menu.

I ventured into this place because other restaurants were closed on Christmas. I had never been there. It looked kind of weird from the outside but my friend and I decided to try it. We were seated immediately, took anout 7 minutes for a waiter to co.e. the young man took our order. I got the milanesa steak with moros and fried green plantains, my friend ordered the vaca frita with moros and fried green plantains. Took about 15 minutes for the waiter to come back and he brought only my friend'@ meat dish, took about 10.more minutes for my meal and his rice to arrive. No green plantains those came separately about 15 mi uses after we started eating. While the meats were good, the rice was awfull. IT was dry, sticky low in salt and not very tasty. The meat portions were generous, we both ended up taking leftover food home. Price: for our meals, no drinks, appetizers or dessert, including tip (15%) I ended up paying $70 and some change. I found that for very basic Cuban food it was overpriced. The appetizers were almost as expensive as a regular dish, that was pretty crazy. I can get better food for less money at other Cuban restaurants in the area. Will I go back? Most likely not, the food was not enough of a motivation to make me go back there. Recommendation: change your recipe for moros/congrí it was really awful. Try to bring all the food at the same time not in parts. Do something about the pricing of your appetizers.

Awesome place. Tamam con Macitas were great. Seafood paella was so flavorful and cooked so well. Soooo much food. 4 people could share.
