About

La Diosa is a small counter-serve Cuban bakery and restaurant tucked into a low-key plaza in Homestead. Eight or so tables, a glass case full of pastries, and the kind of café con leche that makes you slow down for a minute. It's the sort of place that rewards people who pay attention to where locals actually eat.

The menu covers a lot of ground for a spot this size. Breakfast sandwiches are generous, the Cuban sub is the real deal, and the empanadas and croquetas are worth ordering alongside whatever else you get. Save room for dessert. The tres leches and dulce de leche have earned their fans, and the croissants are massive and clearly made in-house.

Food comes out hot and fast, which matters when you're fueling up before a long day in Everglades National Park, about 20 minutes south. It also makes La Diosa a solid early-morning stop if you're heading further down the Keys. The staff is friendly and the vibe is genuinely welcoming.

Dine-in, takeout, and delivery are all available. Outdoor seating is an option too. This is the kind of neighborhood spot that doesn't advertise much because it doesn't need to.

Amazing food, got the vaca frita sandwich and the ropa vieja. For desert we got the tres leches and dulce de Leche. The deserts were too good! The lady was very nice and the food came out hot and fast. Was very good and portions are big. Would definitely come again and am planning to!

On our way to Key West, we stopped here since it was one of the only places open, and I’m so glad we did. The food was amazing, fresh, and full of flavor. The people were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the spot itself is small and cozy. It definitely felt like a local favorite, especially seeing so many people coming in for food at 7 a.m. Such a great unexpected stop.

Omg what a charm! Small restaurant in an off-the-beat- path plaza with about 8 small tables. Very clean with pleasant, friendly staff. Now for the food. We order their Cuban sub which was huge, the croquetas and various pastries along with a Cuban coffee. All I can say is that it was all so tasty & fresh. The prices were incredibly reasonable where we had all this food for under $20. Wish it was close enough to try their breakfast. We definitely recommend looking this place up.

I ordered a quesito and an arroz con leche. I don’t usually leave reviews, but I wanted to share my experience to help others. The quesito had very little cheese in the center, which is disappointing but unfortunately common. The bigger issue was the arroz con leche—it was clearly spoiled. It tasted sour, had a bad smell, and was completely inedible. It seemed like the cinnamon on top was used to try to mask it. I took one bite and had to spit it out. It’s concerning that it was sold in that condition, and it makes me question how long it had been sitting there. I didn’t expect to have to taste food in the store before buying it, but I regret not doing so. Very disappointed.
