The nicest, kindest staff ever. The most delicious mangoes I’ve ever had in my life and they cut them for you. Amazing variety of fruits, veggies, dressings. The animals are super fun to interact with and watch. Always worth a visit!!

Fresh tropical fruit, legendary milkshakes, a petting zoo, and the kind of place you'll talk about for years.
Robert Is Here has been a Homestead institution since 1959, and if you're driving to Everglades National Park, it's practically a required stop. The fruit stand sits on Krome Avenue, about 10 minutes from the park entrance, and it's exactly what it looks like from the road: a sprawling open-air market piled high with tropical fruit you won't find at any grocery store back home.
The mangoes alone are worth the detour. Staff will cut them for you on the spot, and in summer, the variety of South Florida mango cultivars is genuinely staggering. Beyond mangoes, you'll find starfruit, mamey, black sapote, jackfruit, and whatever else is in season. Local honey, house-made preserves, hot sauces, and spices fill out the shelves inside.
Don't skip the milkshake counter. The fruit smoothies and shakes are made with whatever's fresh that day. Key lime, mango, tamarind, soursop. Order one, find some shade, and don't rush.
There's also a small petting zoo on-site, which catches a lot of first-timers off guard. Goats, birds, and a few other animals wander around while you shop. If you're traveling with kids, budget extra time. Live music shows up on weekends.
Robert Is Here is cash-friendly and the prices are fair for what you're getting. It's the kind of place that reminds you why people fall in love with South Florida in the first place.

This is the coolest place around! It is unlike any fruit stand I have ever saw. They have everything from all vegetables imaginable to every fruit imaginable. The freshest fruit you could imagine. They also have a large selection of spices, pickled product, sauces, among many other things. Food trucks on site are nice as well. They do serve fresh shakes which seem to be very popular. If you walk through to the back of the store, there is a petting zoo with several birds, goats, and other animals. All prices seem reasonable and well worth it. The staff here is consistently very friendly and helpful!

A must-stop if you’re traveling through South Florida! Robert Is Here has an amazing selection of fresh tropical fruits, local honey, delicious smoothies, and so many unique local products. The mangoes were some of the best I’ve ever tasted! They also have a small petting zoo, which was a fun surprise for the kids. The staff was friendly, and the whole place has a charming, old Florida feel. We loved our visit and will definitely stop by again on our next road trip to the Keys.

Beautiful place to visit, especially with kids. The environment is full of animals that children can interact with and even feed using food provided on-site. There was live music creating a great atmosphere, and they offer a nice variety of flowers, fresh fruits, preserves, and more. The fruit smoothies are absolutely delicious! A great spot to relax, enjoy, and do some shopping. Highly recommended.

Such a fun place for fresh fruits and fun! Went here in the winter and enjoyed spending time with the birds, animals, and enjoying fresh smoothies. In the summer they have SO much variety of Miami mangoes and other seasonal fruits. If you don’t have a local connection, this is definitely a great place to get sweet mangos. We even got to meet Robert! Nice fun fruit market. There’s plenty of parking outside the shop.
