Great place to play sports. People will always make you welcome and comfy

A community sports hub where pickup soccer, flag football, and tackle football bring Florida City together.
Loren Roberts Park is a wide-open community green space in Florida City, just a short drive from the main entrance to Everglades National Park. It's a working neighborhood park, the kind where regulars show up on weekends with lawn chairs and somebody's always got a game going.
Sports are the main draw here. Soccer, flag football, and tackle football all happen on the open fields, and the basketball courts are well-maintained. If you're the type who likes to find a pickup game when you travel, this is the spot. Locals are welcoming to newcomers.
The park has public restrooms on site, which is useful if you're spending time in the area between Everglades excursions. Florida City sits right at the gateway to the park, so this is a convenient stop if you're traveling with kids who need to burn off energy before or after a day on the trails.
Weekends tend to be lively. Music, games, and a full crowd are part of the experience here. It's a genuinely local scene, not a tourist-polished attraction, and that's exactly what makes it feel real.

The fields dont have the best drainage if it rains. Overall decent park.

Probably the most unkidfriendly park in the Southwest area. Drug use is rampant throughout and if it weren't for the optimist club and we'll maintained basketball courts, I'd advise the city to dig it up and start anew. But for Flo City you can't expect to much more than a huge field and smoked out pavilions. Not bad during the early morning/ afternoon hours, but the rest of the day you will see dope. All types of dope.
