Place like this are some of the best tours! Small, personal and very interesting as you get stories that are not well known. Bob Norman was an incredible guide! He played us a 100 year old record on a 1905 Edison windup record player!! I feel terrible not remembering the woman's name but she was so kind and polite to our son! Wow what an experience!!

Staff easy to work with. Many possibilities for events. My original post was from 2 years ago. It was a 5 star. Although I do think the location in back of the museum has many great potentials for events, it saddens me to see it is not properly being cleaned or maintained. Floors were disgustingly dirty. The bathrooms did not have napkins and the stool doors were practically falling off. The dust was thick and was falling down from the ceiling. There were nails, staples, clips, and all kinds of other adhering objects on the wall. For a location with rich history, they need to do a better job at preserving this treasure.

Excellent location to learn about Redland (Detroit / Florida City) & Homestead history. You can visit several times or stay for several hours each time, learning something new, and hopefully walking away with a deep appreciation for this area and the importance Of the hard Agricultural work that our early pioneers performed to pave the way.
