Capri by Mayamex has been a Florida City fixture long enough to earn real loyalty. It's an Italian steakhouse at its core, with pastas, pizzas, and a wine list that goes deeper than you'd expect this close to the park entrance. But the Mexican side of the menu is the twist worth knowing about. Order from both. Nobody's stopping you.

The dining room is cozy and well-lit, the kind of place where the bread arrives early and the portions arrive large. Regulars swear by the sausage, meatballs, and peppers over spaghetti. First-timers keep getting surprised by the Birria pizza, which sounds like a gamble and apparently isn't. The tres leches is worth saving room for.

Service gets consistent praise here. The staff handles big groups well, and if you're celebrating something, they'll work with you. (Bring your own cake if you want something specific. They're accommodating about it.)

You've got dine-in, takeout, and delivery, plus outdoor seating if the South Florida evening is cooperating. Reservations are available, which is worth using if you're coming with a group. Florida City sits right at the main entrance to Everglades National Park, so this is a solid dinner option after a long day on the trail.

We came here for lunch and we sat in the Mexican side but we were able to order from both menus. It wasn’t busy so we were told to sit anywhere we wanted to. We had a party of 6 and we were also celebrating a birthday and we bought our own cake not knowing what they would provide and they accompanied us with plates and silverware and bought our cake to us on a platter. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs and the portions were big and the flavors were very good. They also provided an early bird menu with a lot of choices with great prices. Service was very good and always available and kept our waters full. We asked for separate checks and they were able to provided that for us. Seating was comfortable and it was an open atmosphere without the feeling of someone right next to you. Bathrooms were clean and parking was easy. This was a great place for lunch and to celebrate a birthday. I would recommend this place for lunch.

I had an amazing waitress and she made sure I was well taken care of. The food and service was amazing, there was no wait time to sit. Definitely try the Birria pizza, steak burrito, and tres leches! 100/10

Excellent service, awesome waiter. Well light cozy restaurant. The portions are huge like any Italian joint. Not the best clams casino but Ive also had worse. The Shrimp Dia Frivolo* sp was more spice then I could handle so I loaded it up with cheese the favor was great just caught my a little. The loaded potato soup didn’t disappoint, their house made blue cheese was also super delish. Unfortunately we were sooooo stuff we had to leave with out dessert.

5/28/21 Wife and I went back to Capri and I had Sausage, meatballs and peppers over spaghetti while wife once again went eith chicken cordone blue. This is by far the best Italian food I've ever eaten, hands down. Original review below. I Would go back in a second. Meals were excellent. Fettuccine with shrimp and Chicken Cordone Blue, servings were good sized. The rolls, salads and sides were great. Will recommend to my friends.
