About

Farmer's Market Restaurant sits inside the Homestead Farmer's Market complex, which means the produce coming out of that kitchen is about as fresh as it gets in South Florida. The menu runs the full American comfort food range: big breakfasts, fried seafood, steaks, pasta, and homemade sides that actually taste homemade.

Fish Fry Friday is the move if your timing works out. The fried grouper with mashed potatoes and coleslaw is the kind of plate that reminds you why you came to Florida in the first place. The conch fritters are worth ordering too. On the breakfast side, the vegetarian omelette gets consistent praise, and the coffee is there when you need it.

The atmosphere is casual and a little quirky, the kind of place that's clearly been feeding locals for years without worrying too much about appearances. Service tends to be warm and unfussy, and the kitchen can handle large groups without things falling apart. (A table of 11 showed up with no notice and got fed quickly. That's saying something.)

It's a solid stop before or after a day in Everglades National Park, about 10 minutes from the main entrance. Nothing pretentious, just good portions and real food at fair prices.

I have no idea why this place isn’t rated much higher. We were there for Fish Fry Friday. I had the Grouper with mashed potatoes, Cole slaw and corn. My friend had the spaghetti and meatballs. We also had the Conch fritters. Everything but the corn was homemade and delicious. The fried grouper was one of the best fried fish I’ve had anywhere in my travels. I really enjoyed discovering hidden gems like this place in my travels. Our waitress was so nice and patient. Make sure you save room for the key lime pie. Go ahead and get the whole pie and take what you don’t finish to your hotel. Maybe get two so you can take one home.

Was seated immediately. The restaurant atmosphere is interesting (see pictures). The waitress fit the the place. I ordered the vegetarian omelette with a side of bacon and they were both very good.

I was looking for a place to eat breakfast in the area that wasn't a chain and wasn't mexican. This was the only place that I found and I was excited to try it. I wanted to like it I really did but the food was not good at all. It was very Bland and the biscuits were very small and flats, not Fluffy at all. You can see how small they are underneath the gravy. The service was quick and the servers were very nice.

What a hidden gem!!! Located in the Farmer's Market complex, it is hidden in plain sight. They source their ingredients directly from the farmers market and you could easily tell that everything was fresh. While the decor and atmosphere wasn't overly flashy, the service was great and the food was even better!!!! If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop in and support this local owned family restaurant!!!!

Peyton, our server, was phenomenal! We randomly stopped in while caravanning down to the Florida Keys and needed a table for 11 people on very short notice. Despite our large group, everything went smoothly. We didn’t have to wait for anything, the food came out quickly, hot, and absolutely delicious. Peyton provided excellent service from start to finish and made our stop a great experience. We’ll definitely be back if we’re in the area again!
