About

Tru by Hilton sits right in Florida City, which puts you about 10 minutes from the main entrance to Everglades National Park and a straight shot down US-1 to the Keys. It's a smart base if you're doing both. The hotel is relatively new, and it shows: rooms are clean, modern, and minimal without feeling sterile.

Breakfast is included every morning, and guests specifically call out the Cuban coffee at the front desk. That's not a small thing when you're heading out early for a sunrise paddle or a long drive through the park. The lobby has a big common area on the first floor, which works well for families who need space to spread out after a day in the heat.

The staff here gets mentioned constantly in reviews, and not in a vague way. Names come up: Vicky at check-in, Ebony and Bernard on the floor. That kind of specific recognition means something. You're not getting a transaction, you're getting an actual welcome.

Rooms are on the simpler side (no microwaves, no ice buckets), but the showers are solid and the beds are comfortable. The hotel shares a pool and BBQ area with the adjacent Home2 Suites, so there's more to work with than the room count alone suggests. Parking is free and easy. For what you pay in this corner of South Florida, that matters.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay. The hotel is new, with a pleasant minimalist design. Impeccable cleanliness, a substantial breakfast included (with delicious Cuban coffee at the front desk), and a pool and BBQ area just steps away in Home2. Best of all, the hotel staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and cooperative. Special mention goes to Lisette, the undisputed star of the show. We're already counting down the days until we can return.

Rooms do not have microwaves or ice buckets. That said, great location, quiet, rooms were beautifully cleaned and hosts were exceedingly helpful. Minimalist rooms with a huge common area on the first floor. Incredible shower with great pressure and plenty of hot water. Tru to the niche.

Although I stay at the 4 Hilton brand hotels while working in town, I always prefer the Tru..rooms are clean, breakfast is good...no issues with parking, but the number one reason are the employees here...Especially Ebony and Bernard! They both always go above and beyond I feel to make my stay more enjoyable and accommodate with any requests I have, these employees earn 5 star !

I stayed here for one night and had a very solid 4-star experience. While the price felt a little high, it is actually quite reasonable compared to the other options in the immediate area. The rooms were modern and clean, the service was friendly, and having breakfast included is a great perk. The best part: The location is perfect if you are heading to the Keys. Being on the outskirts of Miami and closer to Key West allowed me to completely beat the heavy Miami traffic the next morning. It saved me at least an hour of driving time! If you need a reliable, comfortable place to stay before starting your drive down the islands, this is a brilliant choice.
