The property has real personality. There's a shared kitchen, a lounge, and a backyard with a natural spring and pond area that guests consistently call a highlight. Owner Michael has been working through a renovation to take the place from hostel to boutique hotel, and the improvements are visible throughout. It's a property mid-transformation, which means you're catching it at an interesting moment.

Private rooms are available alongside the standard hostel-style setup. The crowd tends to be fellow park-goers, budget travelers, and people passing through on their way to or from the Keys. It's not a resort, but that's not why anyone comes here.

For Everglades visitors who want a place to crash close to the park without paying Miami prices, Hoosville makes a lot of sense. You're minutes from Ernest Coe Visitor Center, the Royal Palm trails, and the main park road. Spend your money on a kayak rental or an airboat tour. Sleep here.

One of the coolest places I’ve ever stayed. I met the owner Michael while there and he explained they’re transitioning from a hostel to a boutique hotel and you can see the improvements everywhere. The place was already cool but now it’ll basically be a historical landmark once he’s finished. I swam in a natural, tropical, cleansing spring-fed pool… I spent time around coy fish… I climbed a tree house for the first time in years and air-dried after the pool session… amazing lights everywhere and big plans for the future. This place is one of my favorite stays of all time. You shouldn’t miss it for the price.

You get what you pay for. The crowd was odd and the facility was under construction. Found a few roaches in the Buddha room bathroom but nothing terrible. The backyard is under construction as of Feb 2025 so not a ton to see there. Room was cool and I was given sheets to use as makeshift curtains. Overall good launch place for Everglades and biscayne but I certainly would not recommend making this your only activity if your stay. Run down but gets the job done. Check in was difficult and frustrating but parking is very easy. I definitely got the sense that some people lived there longer term. Finally the water shut off overnight as I was leaving which didn’t affect me but was concerning.

Absolute gem. Stayed 3-20-26. Upon arrival we were greeted by Jim. Instantly the ambiance of the check-in area, we new we were at home. Jim, Chris, and Micheal were all very personable. The relaxing area was perfect, the Agape pond has such a special meaning there. Don’t let the city deter you from staying here. Don’t miss out! Thank you for a great stay Ryan and Raven!
