About

Fairway Inn is a solid overnight base in Florida City, right at the doorstep of the Florida Keys and about 10 minutes from the main entrance to Everglades National Park. If you're flying in late and heading south the next morning, this is exactly the kind of place you want: clean room, easy parking, no drama.

The complimentary hot breakfast is a genuine perk. Getting a real meal before a long day in the park or a Keys drive matters more than people realize. The outdoor pool has a waterfall feature, and the property is well-kept throughout.

Guests consistently mention the staff by name, which tells you something. Juanita, Rosy, and owner Shital have each come up in reviews for being genuinely welcoming, flexible with check-in, and easy to work with. That kind of personal attention is harder to find at a chain property.

Florida City's location works in your favor here. Walmart, gas stations, and fast food are all within two miles, so you can stock up on supplies before heading into the park or down to the Keys. Families especially appreciate having everything close and not having to plan too far ahead.

It's a practical, comfortable stop that punches above its price point for what you actually need: a clean bed, a good breakfast, and a friendly face at the front desk.

We were happy with what we got for the price. This was a great place for us to stay overnight after arriving on a late flight and heading out to the Keys the next day. The room was clean and comfortable. The pool area looked nice. If we had the time, we would have used it, but it looked great. They offer a grab-and-go breakfast, the reception staff is friendly and helpful, and we really liked that we could walk to Burger King, Dunkin', Starbucks, and Walgreens so easily.

This place is in an ideal location. Everything you need, like Walmart, fast food, and gas stations, is within a two-mile radius. The owner, Shital, was incredibly kind and allowed me to check in early. The receptionist, Rosy, was also friendly and helpful. We stayed there for four nights and had excellent room service. By the time we returned, the room was spotless and well-organized everytime. The property is very clean. And very pleasant Environment. Will Stay here again.

For any traveler preparing to stay, book, or trust your business to this institution: PLEASE READ MY FULL STORY: I debated whether or not to even post this, as normally I do not leaving negative reviews. But at this point I realize the public deserves to hear the truth of how this place operates and tries to pass themselves off as a legitimate business establishment taking travelers from around the world into their confidence. In the early weeks of March 2026, I booked three nights for this hotel from the dates of 3/14/2026 to 3/17/2026. I placed and paid for a full reservation for one room at this location for those three dates weeks in advance, hoping to enjoy south Florida during the opening spring season. My flight arrived in Miami International in the early AM hours of 3/15/2026. No sooner than I had gotten off the tarmac with my luggage, Fairway Inn at Florida City called me around 2:00 AM in the morning and informed me my entire reservation had been cancelled - not just the first night but every night. This cancellation happened about an hour before I was set to drive my rental car to Fairway Inn. The front desk clerk informed me the hotel cleaning staff had completely FORGOTTEN to clean the room I had reserved and paid for weeks in advance. Per his own words, the room was entirely “trashed”, “filled with garbage,” and “unlivable”. What was even more incredulous was the team had only just discovered this fact ONE HOUR before I was set to drive down from Miami International to the hotel in Florida City. The cleaning staff had entirely forgotten to even clean my room to the most basic of standards for the entire day, the administrative staff and front desk had never even checked on the availability of the pre-reserved room until sometime around 2AM Miami time, and no one had any solution but to cancel my entire three-day reservation on the room. During my call, I was informed by the front desk worker staff, to his knowledge, this was an occurrence (of the hotel hotel unpredictably cancelling on guests who had booked pre-reserved rooms) that had not just occurred once but had occurred multiple times throughout recent weeks of my own planned stay there. The first night of my trip to Miami, at a little after 3AM of the morning of 3/15, I called every hotel in the region to see if I could get an alternate booking so that I would not be homeless on my first day of vacation. I finally found one: I was forced to stay at an impromptu $247.50 motel near downtown Miami as a result of Fairway Inn’s utter incompetence, lack of legitimacy, and lack of basic dignity or respect for patrons whom have entrusted their business, schedules, and money to them. I drove down to the hotel to talk to the general manager a few days later into my trip. The manager informed me there was nothing he would do for me: No, there would be no reimbursement for my $247.50 motel bill as a result of their staff forgetting to clean my pre-reserved room - there would be no help and neither was there any earlier help in trying to find me book an alternate hotel in the early AM hours of 3/15/2026, which is the de facto standard for hotel management when you cancel a guest’s room one hour before they are set to drive down after a cross-country flight - there would be nothing but a perfunctory apology and a quick, meaningless handshake. But behind the veneer of perfectly pruned website photos, comfortable words and devotional testimonials from the owners of this establishment, standard reviews, and international and domestic guests who have not had the misfortune of being cancelled on after a 2AM flight into Miami, the public deserves to know these facts. Anyone at all who is planning on staying here, I implore you from every fiber of my own experience to LOOK AWAY and DO NOT BRING YOUR BUSINESS HERE.

We arrived at the hotel on Friday night and were warmly greeted by Juanita at the front desk. She was very attentive, friendly, and helpful throughout the check-in process. She clearly explained everything to us and made us feel welcome right away. While my payment was processing, I also noticed how well she handled multitasking—assisting another guest efficiently without losing focus on us. That level of service really stood out. The hotel itself was great, and I also want to mention that a member of the housekeeping staff was very kind and accommodating when I requested additional towels. I would also like to mention one concern: the hotel should not allow smoking of any kind near the building. At one point, someone was smoking marijuana in their car, and the smell entered our room when we opened the door. I don’t want my kids exposed to that. That was my only small complaint. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience, and the staff truly made a positive impression.
