Don't let the gas station strip mall fool you. Healthy Kitchen 33 and Baba Shokry share a small space in Florida City, but what comes out of that kitchen punches well above its weight. Two concepts run side by side: Baba Shokry covers the Mediterranean side with gyros, wraps, and rice bowls, while Healthy Kitchen handles smoothies, açaí bowls, and lighter fare. Between the two, there's a lot of ground covered.
The lamb gyro gets mentioned constantly by regulars. Fresh bread, good sauces, and portions that actually fill you up. Romeo, who runs the place, is the kind of owner who's genuinely excited about what he's making. That enthusiasm comes through in the food.
The menu works well for a range of eaters. Vegetarian and vegan options are real options here, not afterthoughts. High-protein, low-carb? That's covered too. Families can find something for everyone without anyone compromising.
Florida City sits right at the entrance to Everglades National Park, about two miles from the main gate. After a morning in the park, this is a solid stop for a real meal before heading back north. Dine-in, takeout, and delivery are all available. Outdoor seating too, if you want some air after a long day on the trail.
