About

Florida City sits right at the crossroads of two of South Florida's biggest draws: Everglades National Park and the Florida Keys. Best Western Gateway to the Keys puts you squarely in that sweet spot, about 10 minutes from the park entrance and right at the top of the Overseas Highway. If you're planning a few days split between gator sightings and snorkeling, this is a practical home base.

The setup is classic motel-style, with exterior corridor rooms opening straight to the parking lot or pool area. Rooms are spacious enough for families, with microwaves and mini-fridges included. Free breakfast is included every morning, plus 24/7 coffee and tea in the lobby for early risers heading into the park at dawn.

The outdoor pool is on the smaller side but quiet and well-kept. Free parking is ample, which matters when you're loading up gear for a day in the backcountry or a Keys day trip. Check-in and check-out run smoothly, and the staff gets consistently good marks for being friendly and helpful.

Fast food options are within walking distance, and Homestead's better dining spots are just a short drive north. For families, scout groups, or anyone who needs a clean, affordable place to crash between adventures, this one delivers without overcomplicating things.

Great budget friendly hotel. They do a good job keeping things clean and maintained at this price point. We stayed here with scouts before/after a seabase trip in the keys. Much more affordable and walking distance to fast food. Quaint pool, quiet, felt safe. (Motel style with doors straight outside, no hallways)

We booked this due to its proximity to the national parks. The location is great. The rooms were a little lacking. The mattress was hard and being on the first floor, we heard people come and go at all hours of the night. The breakfast was pretty basic and we only ate it once. The cleaning crew was great though. If you simply need a place to sleep at night, it gets the job done. But I’ve been to nicer Best Weaterns.

The week of May 12 My daughters and I stayed four days. We drove down from Daytona to visit the Everglades. But we ended up driving all the way down to the keys for fun. This hotel is affordable, convenient with nice rooms Free breakfast 24/7 hot coffee or tea. Our room was facing the pool, which was very convenient. All the workers in this hotel were extremely kind and helpful The ladies who clean the room, were amazing. I will definitely be returning to this hotel yearly No complaints at all

We had a great stay here whilst visiting the Keys and Miami. It's a great base to explore the surrounding areas. Plenty of parking spaces outside, easy to check in and out. The rooms were spacious and didn't feel cramped with four of us staying, they were clean and tidy, towels and room was cleaned everyday. A couple of points to note (didn't bother us but might be annoying to others) were, the shower was stone cold one day and boiling hot the next and the air-conditioning was like sleeping next to a generator. Which kicked in everytime the room warmed up. However it did cool the room down so a compromise. The breakfast in the morning was really nice. Great for a short stay. They have a pool but we didn't use it. We never heard any of the other guests. All the staff were polite and really friendly.

Great stopover here on our way to key west. A nice welcome from the best western colleagues who were friendly and helpful. Lovely looking hotel. We had a king room which was big with every convenience needed like chairs and a table to sit at, microwave and fridge. The room was nicely situated overlooking the pool, lovely and clean and bed was comfy. Hotel was quiet and provided 24 hours coffee in lobby and a nice breakfast. There was plenty of parking too. Great value for money in an ideal location with gas stations and restaurants close by, plus a walmart supercenter up the road. Couldn't fault it and would stay again.
