About

Biscayne National Park is one of South Florida's most overlooked places, and AIE gives you a real way into it. The park is 95% water, which means you actually need a boat to see most of it. That's exactly what this operation is set up for: tours, information, and getting visitors out onto the bay.

The launch point sits in Homestead, about 10 minutes from the main entrance to Everglades National Park. If you're doing both parks in a trip (and you should), this area is the right base. Biscayne and the Everglades share the same corner of South Florida but feel completely different from each other. One is sawgrass and mangrove; the other is open water, coral reef, and island shoreline.

The setting itself is worth showing up for. Reviewers mention the sea air, the quiet, and the good parking. It's uncrowded in a way that surprises people used to Florida's busier attractions. Bring a lunch and plan to stay a while.

If you want to get out on the water and actually see what Biscayne has to offer, this is your starting point. Check current tour schedules before you go, as availability can shift by season.

I like to go and enjoy the sea air, walk around a bit and sit and watch the sea. Sometimes I bring a snack or lunch and eat under the trees. There are almost never many people and it has good parking.
