About

Those Puerto Rican flags on US 1 aren't an accident. They're a signal. Pull over, because Sabory By Salvi Cafe is the kind of spot that earns its reputation one alcapurria at a time. It's a kiosk setup, casual and colorful, with a piragua cart out front and the kind of energy that makes you feel like you stumbled into something real.

The food is made to order, which means it comes out hot and fresh every time. Get the alcapurrias. People rave about them. The arroz con guandules and chicharrĂ³n de pollo are also strong moves. Portions are generous and prices are easy on the wallet, which makes it a natural stop before or after a day in Everglades National Park, about 15 minutes south.

Beyond the food, there's a little kiosk selling Boricua decals, jewelry, and other Puerto Rican goods. The whole setup feels festive and welcoming. Families do well here. The vibe is warm and communal, the kind of place where the owners actually want you to have a good time.

Lunch and dinner are both on the table, and they do takeout and delivery too. But honestly, eating on-site is part of the experience. It's a small footprint with a lot of personality, and the South Florida food scene is better for having it.

I spotted Puerto Rican flags while driving north on US 1. It caught my attention and to my surprise this little road side hidden gem was there. They have a little kiosk where they sell decals and jewelry and all types of Boricua things and the food was amazing. The atmosphere was awesome reminded me of home.
