About

Black Creek Trail runs 8.7 miles along Route 7 in Miami, connecting neighborhoods and green space all the way down to Black Point Marina. The path is paved and flat, which makes it genuinely accessible for walkers, cyclists, joggers, and inline skaters. Families with kids, people with dogs, casual strollers, serious riders: this trail handles all of it without breaking a sweat.

The scenery earns its keep. You'll get water views along the way, and the bird life is real, especially the wading birds that work the shallower stretches. Herons, egrets, the usual South Florida cast. Keep your eyes up and you'll spot more than you expect on a suburban trail.

Street crossings exist but they're infrequent, so you can settle into a rhythm without constantly stopping. The path is well-maintained and feels safe throughout. (One local tip: if the wind's blowing north near the city dump section, you'll know it. Plan accordingly.)

Black Creek Trail sits in Miami's southwest corridor, about 20 to 25 minutes from the main entrance to Everglades National Park. It's a solid option if you want to stretch your legs before or after a day in the park, or if you're looking for an easy outdoor activity that doesn't require a ranger station and a trail map. Free to use. Bring water.

I (we, my daughter also) just love it, I cannot believe how long it is, all the way to Black Point Marina, great view along the way, very safe with exception of a few street crossings, but very few. Love the view on the north side of the city dump mountain (except when wind blows north, then is a stinker)
