About
Pa-hay-okee Trail is a short, roughly 0.25-mile boardwalk trail leading to an elevated observation platform overlooking the sawgrass prairie — the view most people picture when they hear "Everglades." It's one of the shortest trails in the park but delivers one of its most photographed vistas.
The boardwalk is wheelchair accessible and takes most visitors 10-15 minutes round trip. The overlook platform is elevated above the marsh, giving an open sightline across the "river of grass" that's hard to get anywhere else without a boat or plane.
It's a good stop for sunrise or sunset light, and pairs well with a visit to nearby Mahogany Hammock or the main park road's other short boardwalk trails.
