Wildman's pizza, pasta and pythons

Brick-oven pizza, homemade pasta, and a genuine python hunter's story all under one roof.

About

Only in the Everglades City would a pizza joint double as a python hunting outpost. Wildman's serves up brick-oven pizzas, calzones, pasta, and sandwiches for lunch and dinner, and the food holds its own. Reviewers who expected roadside mediocrity have walked out genuinely surprised by the crust alone.

The place has a personality you can't manufacture. There's a small shop on-site stocked with python skin products and the history of the Everglades python trade. The owner is a real python hunter, and the stories are part of the experience. (There's even a python-for-pizza trade program, which is exactly as fun as it sounds.)

The staff leans into it all with warmth and real knowledge. Expect friendly conversation, made-to-order food, and the kind of place where locals actually eat. Outdoor seating is available, and the whole setup works well for families. Delivery and takeout are options too, which is handy if you're camping nearby.

Everglades City sits on the Gulf Coast side of the park, close to the Ten Thousand Islands and the backcountry paddling trails. After a day on the water, Wildman's is an easy, satisfying stop. Skip the chain food and eat somewhere you'll actually remember.

Went with my Family Awesome place to go they have a small store of all their history and also have a diner to eat. The Staff (didnt catch her name) But the lady that attend us was super nice. To be honest i thought the pizza was going to be like um ok since its the everglades but once we try it WOW IT WAS SUPER GOOD AND TASTY WOOOW. Now we got a spot to go when we are in that area again. 10/10

We heard about this place from a local tour guide in Naples, so we decided to check it out. It is a simple, hometown joint and it had retro 80’s vibes. It was a very educational place with a gift shop that we bought some python items for our family!

Great food and friendly folks. They brought out a second pizza for free as THEY they thought the crust was to thick for my liking. Food was great! The neighbor at the camp ground where we were staying was greatful for the pizza we gave him. If you like pizza this IS the place.

Super cool. Catch a python and trade it for a pizza. They don't have their beer and wine license wet so you have to settle for a soda. Good pizza 🍕 made to order. Locals come here, so we found the right place. They even have a gifts hop selling python skin products.

Very interesting place to grab a bite to eat. I had a white cheese pizza with sausage and mushrooms (fresh). It was really good. The crust was especially good. They make everything in house. The gal working the place was friendly and knowledgeable. Great conversation. The place is owned by a python hunter and is decorated with huge taxidermy pythons. They have a small gift shop featuring items made of python skin. Nice quality. I recommend stopping in whike you are in the area.
