About

Everglades Fishing Co is the kind of stop that earns a permanent spot in your rotation. It's part outfitter, part café, part gas station, and it pulls all of it off without feeling scattered. If you're heading out to Chokoloskee or anywhere in the Ten Thousand Islands, this is where you fill up the tank, grab the gear you forgot, and eat something real before the day starts.

The café punches above its weight. Breakfast burritos come up regularly as the move, and the biscuits, burgers, and sandwiches keep things simple in the best way. Counter seating, no-fuss service, the kind of place where you're in and out without losing half your morning.

The shop side is well-stocked with tackle, fishing clothing, and deck boots that regulars swear by. Their own clothing line gets solid attention, and the staff actually know what they're talking about when you ask for recommendations. Stone crab when it's in season is worth grabbing if you're cooking that night.

Everglades City sits on the Gulf Coast side of the Everglades, about 35 miles west of the main park entrance off US-41. It's the launch point for backcountry paddling, fishing charters, and Ten Thousand Islands exploration. Everglades Fishing Co handles the charter side too, so if you're still figuring out your plans when you pull in, you're in the right place.

We sat at the counter. Wife ordered grits with two eggs. I ordered sausage, toast, and two eggs with OJ. Five minutes later the orange juice arrived. Five minutes later the grits arrived. Five minutes later two pieces of sausage arrived. Five minutes later the toast arrived. Then noticing we were waiting to eat the server remembered we ordered eggs. An order of two arrive after three other orders were sent out by the cook. And the eggs were raw. Sent them back and they returned with one still raw. Server became frustrated when we pointed it out and took the eggs, toast and sausage away. There was still a second order of eggs that had not arrived. The server then brought us a bill for the grits and the two eggs that never arrived. When we pointed out the error, the server just threw up her arms expressing her frustration as if this was our fault and said no charge and said we could leave. Everyone is entitled to a bad day, but this was not acceptable service. But the wife says the grits were some of the best she ever had.

If you’re on your feet all day, do yourself a favor and grab a pair from Everglades Fishing Co. I’ve tried several competing brands, and these are by far the most comfortable deck boots I’ve owned. I regularly put in 20k+ steps a day, and my feet never ache. They’re lightweight, supportive, and hold up great in wet conditions—perfect for long workdays or being out on the water. No break-in needed, just all-day comfort right out of the box. Also… this might be my best late-night Ambien purchase yet 😂 apparently I buy boots in my sleep now—but hey, what can I say… I could do worse things in my sleep. Highly recommend if comfort and durability matter.

Bought stone crab for dinner. The lady who helped us was really helpful. Told us the crabs were cooked before being frozen and we're ready to eat. Appreciated her tips
