About

Ivey House sits right in the middle of Everglades City, which makes it one of the most convenient places to stay if you're heading out on a boat tour, paddling trip, or anything in the Ten Thousand Islands. You're steps from the water and minutes from the park's Gulf Coast entrance. It's a genuinely good base camp for this corner of the Everglades.

The rooms are well-sized and decorated with some personality. Guests consistently mention how clean and comfortable the space feels after a long day on the water. The outdoor pool is screened in, which matters more than you'd think out here. Everglades City is serious mosquito territory, so that covered pool area is where you'll actually want to spend your evenings.

Families tend to do well here. The layout is easy, the staff gets good marks for being helpful and friendly, and the location means you're not driving anywhere after a full day outdoors. A couple of solid restaurants, including Camellia Street Grill and Island Cafe, are close enough to walk to.

If you're planning a trip to the Gulf Coast side of the Everglades, Ivey House is one of the few lodging options that puts you right where the action is. Book direct when you can, and pack bug spray for anywhere you're going outside.

Room was clean and everything works but we did find some ants that we notified the staff about the next morning (it was late). This side of the property, the north wing, is arranged around a very nice outdoor covered pool. The room was fine for our purposes, one night's accommodation for myself and my kids prior to driving home after a canoe camping trip in the National Park, but you won't impress anybody by bringing them here. These rooms are old and it is time for a comprehensive renovation. The staff are very nice and helpful, and the place apparently has some history. They have everything you need for a great trip in Everglades National Park. Other reviews mention bugs, I don't doubt it, but it's Florida and bugs happen. The place is perfectly appropriate for Eco Tourists.

Cute hotel. Good location. As stated in other reveiws. Rooms are outdated. And beds are not comortable. But There is a screened in pool so it keeps most of the bugs out. Mosquitos are ridiculously crazy around this hotel ( and even this is a understatement ) So bug spray up!!!!! My only wish is that there was more of an outside sitting area thats screened in. You can only sit outside your door and look at the pool. Hotel staff was amazing and super accommodating for our late arrival.

I have thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Ivey house. The staff is great and very helpful. Rooms are nice, clean, and comfortable. Location is the best if you are looking to be in the heart of the Everglades. Couple of great restaurants nearby too (Camelia Street and Island Cafe). I highly recommend this establishment!

Got settled in my room watching TV and a huge cockroach crawled on my foot! Hotel staff came out to spray, but I saw another roach in the middle of the night and had to kill it myself! Discussed with management the next day. They couldn't refund since I booked through a 3rd party which is understandable, but they said they escalated the issue to management and that I'd be hearing from someone. Never did hear from them. Too bad because it would've been a decent stay. I was pleased with the suite and friendliness of the staff before the issue occured.
