About

La Cruzada has been a Homestead staple long enough that some regulars have been eating here since childhood. It's counter-serve Mexican done right: tacos, burritos, chimichangas, and daily platters that taste like someone's abuela actually made them. The barbacoa corn quesadilla alone is worth the trip.

The food draws people from well outside the neighborhood. Folks drive down from Kendall and Miami specifically for this place, which tells you something real about how it holds up against the competition. The spicy shrimp and spicy chicken dishes get consistent love, and the margaritas are the kind that actually complement the food instead of just being an afterthought.

Live music turns dinner into something more than a meal. The space is festive without being loud and chaotic, and the staff has a reputation for making everyone feel like a regular. It works well for families and groups, and outdoor seating means you can enjoy the South Florida evening air while you eat.

Homestead sits right at the edge of Everglades National Park, so if you're spending a day on the trails or the water, La Cruzada makes a solid place to land afterward. Dine-in, takeout, and reservations are all options. The price is right for what you get.

If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food in Homestead, look no further than La Cruzada Restaurant. Every meal we’ve had has been outstanding—the food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. But what really sets this place apart is the service. The staff is welcoming, attentive, and genuinely makes you feel like family from the moment you walk in. It’s the kind of restaurant you keep coming back to because everything—from the food to the hospitality—is top-notch. One of the best dining experiences in Homestead. Highly recommend!

La Cruzada has been one of my favorite spots ever since I was a little girl. The food is always amazing, but my absolute favorite is the barbacoa corn quesadilla—it’s so flavorful and never disappoints! Great food and great service

I’m a Mexican from California living in Miami for the last 10 years, I’ve struggled to find a place I like that has authentic Mexican food. I cook everything the way my mom taught me so going out for Mexican isn’t worth it if I can make it myself, until this place. We often drive down from Kendall to have a great meal, the service is always great & ladies are always pleasant with a smile. I’m particular about my tacos de tripas & they always get it right! Gracias paisanos!

We ordered the Spicy Shrimp and Spicy Chicken with rice, and it was hands down some of the best food we’ve had in Homestead. The flavors were amazing, and everything was cooked perfectly. The Piña Colada and Margarita were outstanding and complemented the meal really well. The vibe and ambience of the place were excellent, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal. A special mention to our waitress, who took great care of us throughout the visit. She was attentive, friendly, and made the experience even better. Highly recommend this place, and we’ll definitely be coming back!

Ordered take away chips & pico de gallo. They charged ~$9 for this?! They should be ashamed of themselves for this portion size of pico — it’s one of the few things that is actually cheaper to make, and they couldn’t be decent to give an edible portion? If I had a car, I’d definitely return this. to drive back up there but I am visiting so I’m sort of stuck with it. The only consolation is that the taste is good on the pico; chips slightly oily & saltless. I will NEVER return to this place.
